Norv Turner is joining forces with River Boat Ron to help catalyst Cam and the Panthers revamped offense. A few new faces on the offensive side should boost this team back into playoff contention.

Favored in 10 of the 15 game lines posted, the Panthers will have some work cut out for them. A tough test at Philadelphia and Pittsburgh on the road will show Carolina’s grit mid season. The Panthers will get to handle Seattle, Baltimore and Dallas at home which should give them some advantage in those games.
Key Team Additions and Subtractions
Additions – RB C.J. Anderson, Rb Kenjon Barner, WR Torrey Smith, DT DontariPoe
Subtractions – QB Derek Anderson, Ed Dickson, G Andrew Norwell, DT Star Lotulelei
Draft – WR D.J. Moore, CB Donte Jackson, DB Rashaan Gaulden, TE Ian Thomas, DE Marquis Haynes, LB Jermaine Carter, LB Andre Smith, DT Kendrick Norton
Cam has been asking for weapons for years. He had a depleted and injured cast around him. Cam can’t be the leading rusher on a team planning on making a Superbowl run. Newton will have some shiny new toys and a new coordinator to hopefully make him look like Super Cam again.
Running through the tackles will be up to Anderson. A bull of a runner, he ammased 1000 yards for the first time. C.J. will give a Christian McCaffery a different change of speed back. This should allow match up issues for the opposing defenses. McCffarey was constantly under pressure seeing 8 men in the box when lining up, that should change under Turner this year.
Devin Funchess started to show he could be THAT guy for came once Kelvin Benjamin was traded. He had a career high in yards with 840 and 8 touchdowns. Draftee D.J. Moore and Torrey Smith should be able to get space with their speed. Veteran Greg Olsen will be back from an injury plagued season and look to dominate with Cam once again.
The offensive line is brutal. Outisde of Trai Turner and Ryan Kalil this line is not great. The Panthers let Andrew Norwell walk and that will hurt. Norv Turner will have to be creative to get the ball out of Cam’s hand quick.
Julius Peppers returns for another year. Along with new addition, Dontari Poe and Kawann Short, this d-line should be a strong unit for the ‘Thers.
Arguably the best linebacker today is Luke Kuechly, arguably the most injuried player is also Kuechly. If he can remain healthy with Shaw Thompson and Thomas Davis, those three can dominate in the middle of the field.
The Panthers’ secondary was in need of speed and they picked up Donte Jackson, speed himself. James Bradberry will need a bounce back year but that tandem could be a solid pairing. Da’Norris Searcy and veteran will man the two safety spots.
Graham Gano is a relatively proficent kicker and will continue the role again this year. There will be a combination of return men, all very shifty and agile.
The Carolina Panthers may be overlooked. The offense will have a new look and the defense should be a dominate force again. The NFC South is tough but they will be in the thick of it for the year.
Over 8 wins
The Panthers will be in the playoffs again. The team looks much better than last year. Outside of the offensive line, this team is solid at every level. Eight wins seems easily obtainable.
