Week 16 @ Miami (-3)
Week 17 @ Houston

Schedule Outlook

Rematch of the NFC Championship game in week 2 will be a fun one. Eagles, Steelers and Cowboys will all boast strong games against the Jags this season.

Key Team Additions and Subtractions

Additions – QB Cody Kessler, WR Donte Moncreif, TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, G Andrew Norwell, and CB D.J. Hayden

Subtractions – QB Chad Henne, WR Allen Robinson, WR Allen Hurns, TE Marcedes Lewis, LB Paul Posluszny, and CB Aaron Colvin

Draft – DT Taven Bryan, WR D.J. Chark, S Ronnie Harrison, T Will Richardson, QB Tanner Lee, LB Leon Jacobs, and P Logan Cooke

Offense

Blake Bortles really hasn’t hit the potential that the Jags saw when they took him. They are hoping to have the guy they saw in year two. Jacksonville will be Bortles to be a bit better this year.

As a rookie, Leonard Fournette didn’t disappoint, passing 1000 yards and 10 total touchdowns was a nice way to come in the league. T.J. Yeldon is more apart of the passing game but does add a change of speed alongside Fournette.

Replacing Robinson and Hurns will be tough. Draftng Dede Westbrook last year and Chark this year will help that. Both can end up being just as good receivers. Marquise Lee was brought back, as well as, Jenkins was brought in to help Bortles.

Bortles took the least amount of sacks last season in his career. The Jags went out and got the best guard on the market in Norwell and have Cam Robinson in his second year. This line was pretty average but could take a step forward this season.

Defense

Arguably the best defensive last season is anchored by a dominate line. Calais Campbell was a first team all-pro pairing with Yannick Ngakoue and Dante Fowler Jr. should give this team a three headed edge rush. Malik Jackson and Marcell Dareus will be run stoppers up the gut and get breathers from first rounder Taven Bryan.

Losing the heart of their linebacking core will hurt. Telvin Smith and Myles Jack will be able to step in nicely and feel that hole in the center. The Jags will need Blair Brown to step up on the otherside and become more dominate.

Jalen Ramsey and AJ Bouye are one of the best pairings of any two corners in the league. Jalen normally matches up on the number one wide out but Bouye might be better. In the safties, Tashaun Gibson and Barry Church will start the year in the back with rookie Harrison getting reps as well.

Special Teams

Josh Lambo is a pretty consistent kicker and newly drafted Cooke will likely step into the punter role. The kick return will need a jolt this season with Corey Grant and Jaydon Mickens handling those duties.

Outlook

This team is still really good. Their defense has a ton of depth on the line. They added Norwell to help protect Bortles and gave him some gadgets to play with. They are still one of the favorites in the AFC for good reason.

Plays

AFC SOUTH Champions/Over 8

Both are still good value. The Texans should be better and the Titans only got better. This division is winnable and the odds our in the favor of the Jags. Blake Bortles is still relatively young and could produce more this season. Back the Jags for the South title.

Coming off their first playoff appearance since 2008 the Titans hope new head coach Mike Vrabel can continue their postseason play.

Odds:

AFC SOUTH DIVISION WINNERS: +190 (Bovada)

AFC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS: +1600 (Bovada)

SUPER BOWL 53 CHAMPIONS: +5000 (Bovada)

Team Win Total: O/U 8 (Westgate)

Schedule:

Week 1 @ Miami (-2.5)
Week 2 vs. Houston (PK)
Week 3 @ Jacksonville (+5)
Week 4 vs. Philadelphia (+1.5)
Week 5 @ Buffalo (PK)
Week 6 vs. Baltimore (-2.5)
Week 7 @ Los Angeles (Chargers) (+3)
Week 8 BYE WEEK
Week 9 @ Dallas (+3.5)
Week 10 vs. New England (+3.5)
Week 11 @ Indianapolis (-1)
Week 12 @ Houston (+3.5)
Week 13 vs. New York (Jets) (-8.5)
Week 14 vs. Jacksonville (-1)
Week 15 @ New York (Giants) (-1.5)
Week 16 vs. Washington (-5.5)
Week 17 vs. Indianapolis

Schedule Outlook

The Titans first half of the season looks a lot tougher than the second half. If they can make it through the first seven games with four wins, this should help them make a playoff run.

Key Team Additions and Subtractions

Additions – QB Blaine Gabbert, RB Dion Lewis, T Kevin Pamphile, DT Bennie Logan, S Kenny Vaccaro, and CB Malcom Butler

Subtractions – QB Matt Cassel, RB DeMarco Murray, WR Eric Decker, DT Sylvester Williams, LB Avery Williamson, and S Da’Norris Searcy

Draft – LB Rashaan Evans, LB Harold Landry, CB Dane Cruikshank, and QB Luke Falk

Offense

Marcus Mariota took a huge step backwards last season. Mariota will need to reverse that and be much better for the Titans to compete. If he can be the guy they had in year two this will be a much more potent offense.

Derrick Herny will assume primary ball caring duties. Splitting touches with newly acquired Dion Lewis to help in the back game, the Titans run game should improve.

If Corey Davis doesn’t develop into a standout receiver, this could be a rough season for Mariota. Rashad Matthews isn’t a more than a second option. Delanie Walker is one of the better receiving tightends in the league, with over 800 yards the last four seasons.

Jack Conklin and Taylor Lewan are some of the best tackles in the league, but the players between then are a bit suspect. Conklin is coming off an injury which hurts but Pamphile is versatile enough to help smooth the loss. This line is a bit of misfits it’ll need to get better.

Defense

DaQuan Jones has improved each year in the league. Bennie Logan is a strong nose tackle and run stopper. Jurrell Casey rounds out the line and is a force to stop on the line.

Wesley Woodyard and Brian Orakpo are quality linbackers and will continue to play at a high level. Losing Avery Williamson and replacing him with Rashaan Evans shouldn’t be any dip in production. Adding Harold Landry, who before injury, was one of the premier pass rushers in college.

Malcom Butler is joining a crew that includes Logan Ryan, Adoree’ Jackson Kevin Byrad and Kenny Vaccaro. This secondary should only get better with the additions they made in the off season. Losing Johnathan Cyprien shouldn’t be an issue with Vaccaro’s addition.

Special Teams

Ryan Succop has long been consistent and punter Brett Kern is a All Pro player. Adoree’ Jackson is a freak athlete and will be the once again returning all things out of the air.

Outlook

This team is still really good. Their defense has a ton of depth on the line. They added Norwell to help protect Bortles and gave him some gadgets to play with. They are still one of the favorites in the AFC for good reason.

Plays

Over 8

The Titans only got better from their previous season. The addition of Vrabel should help the defense. There is no way that Mariota will be as bad as he was last season. This is a value play and should be strongly considered with plus money.

Injuries plagued a season that looked promising. Injuries to Deshaun Watson, J.J. Watt, D’onta Foreman, C.J. Fiedoriwucz and Will Fuller took quite the toll on the Texans season. With a healthy roster the Texans hope to return to the playoffs.

Odds:

AFC SOUTH DIVISION WINNERS: +190 (Bovada)

AFC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS: +1000 (Bovada)

SUPER BOWL 53 CHAMPIONS: +2000 (Bovada)

Team Win Total: O/U 9 (Westgate)

Schedule:

Week 1 @ New England (+7)
Week 2 @ Tennessee (PK)
Week 3 vs. New York (Giants) (-6)
Week 4 @ Indianapolis (-3)
Week 5 vs. Dallas (-3)
Week 6 vs. Buffalo (-6)
Week 7 @ Jacksonville (+3)
Week 8 vs. Miami (-7)
Week 9 @ Denver (PK)
Week 10 BYE WEEK
Week 11 @ Washington (-3)
Week 12 vs. Tennessee (-3.5)
Week 13 vs. Cleveland (-10)
Week 14 vs. Indianapolis (-7.5)
Week 15 @ New York (Jets) (+1.5)
Week 16 @ Philadelphia (+5.5)
Week 17 vs. Jacksonville

Schedule Outlook

The Texans have a few tough road tests in the Patriots, Eagles and Redskins. The way their schedule lines up isn’t terrible a middle bye week and home stretches are nice. The bookends of the season are where the Texans might see some struggles.

Key Team Additions and Subtractions

Additions – QB Brandon Weeden, G Zach Fulton, G Senio Kelemete, T Seantrel Henderson, S Tyrann Mathieu, and CB Aaron Colvin

Subtractions – QB Tom Savage, RB Andre Ellington,  G Xavier Su’a-Filo,  T Breno Giacomini, LB Brian Cushing, and S Marcus Gilchrist

Draft – S Justin Reid, T Martinas Rankin, TE Jordan Akins, WR Keke Coutee, DE Duke Ejiofor, TE Jordan Thomas, LB Peter Kalambayi, and CB Jermaine Kelly

Offense

When Deshaun Watson was on the field this offense was electric and very dynamic. His instant connection to DeAndre Hopkins was one of the best in the NFL. Watson was in the ROY conversation and the MVP conversation until he went down with a knee injury. Now healthy he is ready to dominate again.

Lamar Miller is a quality back and is dangerous enough to keep opponents tested. In his last four years he is averaging almost 1000 yards per season and almost eight total touchdowns. D’Onta Foreman is also recovering from injury but looked good before he was sidelined.

Hopkins is one of the best receivers in the league. Fuller is a dynamic speedster that opens the field up for Dashuan. Keke Coutee and Braxton Miller will battle for the third wide out spot both bringing their own talents to help out and cause mismatches.

This line brought in three new guys. It should be a lot better. Senio is a versatile lineman while the rest of the line is above average.

Defense

Getting J.J. Watt back is a huge bonus. He alone is enough of a problem. D.J. Reader and Joel Heath have a knack for getting up the field and causing pressure.

This linebacking core is so deep. Whitney Mercilus and Jadeveon Clowney can wreck havoc on any team. While Zach Cunningham and Benardrick McKinney always seem to find themselves in the mix of tackles. Include rookie Duke Ejiofor and that is a mix of linebackers i wouldn’t want to face.

Johnathon Joseph is a savvy veteran paired with Aaron Colvin, that mix of corners will help calm the air raid. Tyrann Mathieu is a big addition to this secondary. He will bring a tenacious tackling grit to this unit.

Special Teams

Ka’imi Fairbairn hit 20 of his twenty-five attempts last season and will continue as the kicker for the Texans this season. Keke Coutee will take over the return role as he did in college.

Outlook

The Texans are overlooked and have the ability to rack up some wins with an easier schedule. The return of Deshaun and Watt will have huge help on both sides of the ball. This team isn’t extremely deep but if healthy can make a deep run.

Plays

AFC CHAMPIONS

The Texans most likely won’t win the AFC but there is a good shot they make the playoffs and can be hedged with great value here.

The Colts’ season relies entirely on Andrew Luck. The previous years have been based only around his health. Sitting out an entire year, what can Andrew Luck do now that he is healthy?

Odds:

AFC SOUTH DIVISION WINNERS: +190 (Bovada)

AFC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS: +1000 (Bovada)

SUPER BOWL 53 CHAMPIONS: +2000 (Bovada)

Team Win Total: O/U 7.5 (Westgate)

Schedule:

Week 1 @ New England (+7)
Week 2 @ Tennessee (PK)
Week 3 vs. New York (Giants) (-6)
Week 4 @ Indianapolis (-3)
Week 5 vs. Dallas (-3)
Week 6 vs. Buffalo (-6)
Week 7 @ Jacksonville (+3)
Week 8 vs. Miami (-7)
Week 9 @ Denver (PK)
Week 10 BYE WEEK
Week 11 @ Washington (-3)
Week 12 vs. Tennessee (-3.5)
Week 13 vs. Cleveland (-10)
Week 14 vs. Indianapolis (-7.5)
Week 15 @ New York (Jets) (+1.5)
Week 16 @ Philadelphia (+5.5)
Week 17 vs. Jacksonville

Schedule Outlook

The Texans have a few tough road tests in the Patriots, Eagles and Redskins. The way their schedule lines up isn’t terrible a middle bye week and home stretches are nice. The bookends of the season are where the Texans might see some struggles.

Key Team Additions and Subtractions

Additions – WR Ryan Grant, TE Eric Ebron, T Austin Howard, G Matt Slauson, DE Denico Autry, LB Najee Goode

Subtractions – RB Frank Gore, WR Donte Moncrief, DT Jonathon Hankins, LB Johnathon Bostic, and CB Rashaan Melvin

Draft – G Quenton Nelson, LB Darius Leonard, G Braden Smith, DE Kemoko Turay, DE Tyquan Lewis, RB Nyhiem Hines, WR Daurice Fountain, RB Jordan Wilkins, WR Deon Cain, LB Matthew Adams, and LB Zaire Franklin

Offense

This is a well known fact the Colts are a completely different team with Andrew Luck. HE can make or break their season dependent on health. Luck allows the defense to get breaks which in turn keeps the games closer for Luck to dominate in.

Marlon Mack is a steady back coming into his second year. He showed flashes that he could help the Colts in the run game, after being behind Frank Gore last year. Hines could be the Alvin Kamara of this draft. He has a lot of different ways to beat you in the ground game but also has soft enough hands to catch out of the back field.

T.Y. Hilton isn’t a top flight wide out but pairing him with Luck makes it seem otherwise. Pairing him with Ryan Grant should allow them to both have some solid looks. Jack Doyle and Eric Erbon are one of the best 1-2 tightend combos. Both can catch and will help Luck immensely in the pass game.

The Colts had a top ten pick and took a guard which rarely happens. Quenton Nelson is that good. He will help to protect Luck who for years has had a swiss cheese line. Bringing in Slauson and Howard will immediately help the competition in preseason. Adding in Nelson and Smith to the mix may give Luck his best line, he has ever had.

Defense

Jabaal Sheard is a tough task to handle on the outside, he has force quite a few fumbles in his career as well as gets pressure on the quarterback. The plan is to rotate multiple guys through the line, keeping fresh legs. Kemoko Turay is an exciting rookie to watch. John Simmons could become a good player but was injuried last year and had to be sidelined.

This linebacking core is an open battle. Darius Leonard should be able to compete for a starting job. But really there isn’t much to be excited here. undrafted rookie Skai Moore could be a sneaky good pick up as he led USC in tackles and interceptions.

Malik Hooker is a pro bowl caliber saftey and Quincy Wilson had a nice rookie season but this secondary is bad. It wont be much improved from last year in which it ranked lower third of the league in almost all categories.

Special Teams

Ka’imi Fairbairn hit 20 of his twenty-five attempts last season and will continue as the kicker for the Texans this season. Keke Coutee will take over the return role as he did in college.

Outlook

The ageless wonder Adam Vinatieri is back to help the Colts. Rookie Hines will get the first crack at the return role.

Plays

Andrew Luck Come Back Player of the Year +600 (skybet)

There are plenty of talented players including Aaron Rodgers, David Johnson, Carson Wentz and J.J. Watt that will all be in play here. Andrew Luck means more to his team than the rest of them. The Packers were still competitive without Rodgers, Luck means more to his team the Watt and DJ and Wentz’s team won a Superbowl without him.
