Calgary vs. Hamilton
Calgary continues on their road trip taking on Hamilton. Calgary is first in the West Division while Hamilton is tied for first in the East Division with Ottawa. Calgary comes into this week looking to get back on track after their loss last week to Edmonton. Hamilton is looking to get a win in hopes of taking first place in the East.
Calgary is still one of the best teams in the league on both sides of the ball as I mentioned in last week’s writeup. In their last 3 games, their offense is averaging 35 pts a game. What’s becoming a concern is their defense, giving up 31 pts a game in their last 3 games. Calgary is a perfect 6-0 at home but have had their troubles on the road, posting a 3-2 road record. Calgary has also been hit with injuries lately, losing WR Jorden for the season and a few others on offense who have been banged up.
Hamilton is much better at home than their 3-2 home record indicates. They have the 2nd best home defense in the league along with the top home passing defense. On offense, they have the top home passing offense and led by QB Masoli with a good receiving core led by Tasker and Banks. Their last 3 games the offense has averaged 34 pts a game while their defense has given up an average of 26 pts a game.
A win here for Hamilton could give them first place in the East division over the
struggling Ottawa Redblacks. This would be a huge accomplishment if they can pull off a win and I think they will be up for the tough task against Calgary.
